after a surprisingly long time, we finally ironed out all the bugs, and decided to just go for it and publish it.

So, Lost In Translation is finally out for $0.99 in the App store, try it out! have fun with it, and don’t forget to post a review!

Long Time no App

So if anyone has run accross this blog, browsed around, found the Lost In Translation page, and looked for the link to buy it… you’ll probably notice, its still not there. Its still in development. Well, in truth the app was ready for deployment about 3 weeks ago. Then I discovered that the Google Translate API i was using is going to be shutdown in December and replaced with a payware version. This lead to many complications, it basically meant i had to find a new API because i was not going to pay Google for a simple translation API if there was a free one available somewhere. It took very little research to find that Microsoft provided a very similar API for free with many very interesting new features as well. Anyway, the Translation engine has been replaced, and it all seems to be running pretty well right now. Unfortunately Microsoft’s Bing Translator API only supports 36 languages at the moment instead of the Full 55 languages that Google supported but on the up side, the translations are more entertaining.

Now that the engine is working pretty well, it seems to be ready for another round of testing on mobile devices. I have no doubt that there have been planty of new bugs introduced from the new API but I hope that these bugs can be hammered out fairly quickly.

In any case, keep checking back. I will try to post more updates on the progress of Lost In Translation from now on

Hello, this is my first post in the ChrizAPPS blog. I figured this is probably a good time to say what this is all about. what is ChrizAPPS? and what does it do?

ChrizAPPS is a sort of personal App development business I have started up mainly to help pay for college. When you install one of my apps on you phone, you install an app that has gone through weeks and months of debugging in order to ensure that the app is both reliable and accomplishes its task well.

So what apps have i developed so far? only one actually. Lost In Translation is an app that translates your message not into just one language, but into every language available in the translation engine. you can read more about it here.

Although Lost In Translation has not been released yet, I will post updates about it here, and also post when its going to be released.
